Be A Wedding Mc Now
If you are a wedding MC in the near future - like this Saturday, here’s the number one thing you need to do.
Talk to The Bride and Groom and Plan the Wedding Reception Program
If the bride and groom (or their Moms’) are keeners, then you can relax a bit; it will already be done.
If they have planned a Wedding Reception program then you know who is speaking, when, and in what order. It is easier for you to plan your comments and humor. Also, you can handle any last minute changes easier if it’s a simple adjustment to the program.
Using Humor
One obvious place to interject humor is just before any introductions of Head Table guests such as parents, the Best Man, the Maid of Honor etc.
It’s not as simple as just firing off a “wedding joke” however.
It’s easy to adapt material to suit the actual introduction you are making. Just get a few tasteful wedding jokes and use them in appropriate spots.
Announcements and Humor
Adjustments that often happen “on the fly” usually have to do with facility announcements or maybe recognizing a guest who travelled a long distance that a member of the family just realized is attending the wedding.
Again, using humor in these situations is a great idea. Once everything is planned, still keep a reserve of multi-purpose jokes you can use anywhere in the reception program.
Planning is the key - and not just what you (as the Wedding MC ) are going to say. The reception needs to be planned first. If the bride and groom have ideas about what to put in a wedding reception program it will make your job much easier.
